Portstewart is a very popular with local people and has numerous restaurants, cafes and retail outlets. The main road through the town runs along the ocean front beside a stone boardwalk for pedestrians. Walks can be taken from here right round the coast to the Strand which streches for 2km where it is intersected by the mouth of the river Bann. The ancient sand dune system and walks here are exceptional for wildlife and family picnics. |
